WHO WE ARE ?

La Lliga dels Drets dels Pobles (People’s Rights League) is an organization with 30 years in the world of development cooperation and sensitizing. Since the end of 2005 we are carrying out a Campaign subsidized by the Agència Catalana de Cooperació al Desenvolupament (Catalan Cooperation to Development Agency) named “Chechnya: break the silence” that wants to denounce and sensitize Catalan citizens about this Caucasus forgotten conflict.

The essential part of the campaign is an itinerant photography exposure that has been travelling and will stay in different Catalan towns. During the period that the exposure is in the town, we organize some acts like conferences, projections of documentaries, etc.

Together to this exposure, we also have this web page (www.txetxenia.org) where you can find recent news about the conflict, wide documentation and general information about the conflict and the country. Besides, we are also working in one book about the Chechen conflict that will compile some university teachers and journalists specialized in these theme articles. Finally, we are also working with national and international organizations in specific campaigns like the homage acts to Anna Politkovskaya or the Russian-Chechen Friendship Society support campaign.
